Therapeutic SomaYoga

Simple, accessible, transformative!
SomaYoga is a therapeutic blend of somatics, yoga postures, and nervous‑system retraining that helps you release unconscious tension and move with more ease. It invites you to slow down and sense deeply, helping you to retrain patterns that create pain, stiffness, and fatigue. With small, intentional movements and nervous-system awareness, you release long-held tension, strengthen what’s underused, soften what’s overworked, rebuild stability, and reconnect with your inner strength.

Why it works
SomaYoga is a gentle, science-supported approach to movement that helps you reconnect with your body from the inside out. In daily life, stronger muscles and gravity often overpower the smaller stabilizing muscles that keep us aligned and pain‑free. SomaYoga helps you reawaken these deep support systems. As somatic educator Lawrence Gold explains, somatics helps uncover unconscious tension patterns that contribute to joint compression, nerve entrapment, and persistent discomfort. Through this practice, you begin to sense where you grip, where you collapse, and where you’ve been moving on autopilot.

“I am really happy to have been able to study with Chris. Her approach is gentle and playful, with clear guidance that makes it easy to move deeper into the poses and a yoga practice. She understands connecting with and honoring the whole self. Her classes are accessible, and she is very experienced with adapting poses. She is compassionate, intuitive, and has a wonderful way of closing each class with love and gratitude by saying, "Thank your spirit for the beautiful human you are embodying this earth."

Susan C., yoga student

Thank your body for all it does
Thank your mind for all its wisdom
Thank your breath for all its nourishment
Thank your spirit or soul for the beautiful human you are embodying this earth!
